With a wide variety of categories to compete in, this is your chance to not just show your talents, but to earn your spot in a World Championship!
The VDE Choreography Competition is a highlight of the GOLD-USA and VDE event.
If you want to show off your original choreography piece at this year’s event, joining the GOLD-USA competition is the way to do it!
To Register to COMPETE at GOLD’s-VDE 2026 Please follow these steps:
- You must Have or Get a Membership with the GOLD organization: GOLD Dance | Register member
- You must have a valid VDE 2026 Event Pass: https://www.vegasdanceexplosion.com/important-please-read/
- You must Purchase a Competition Pass from VDE:
- You must register for competitions no later than November 6th, 2025: GOLD Dance | Login

For Choreography Competition:
Beginner Choreography
- Built for brand new dancers with little or no experience.
- Uses 32 to 48 counts of basic, repeating patterns (e.g., grapevines, step-touches, basic shuffles).
- Features slow to moderate music speeds with minimal or no turns.
- Avoids complex syncopation, tags, or restarts.
Improver Choreography
- Designed for dancers who know basic steps and want more.
- Expands to 32 to 64 counts with added directional changes and turns.
- Introduces faster music and syncopated steps like coaster steps or sailor steps.
- Frequently incorporates basic tags, restarts, or pivot turns.
Advanced Choreography
- Created for highly skilled, confident dancers with a strong grasp of line dance vocabulary.
- Features long sequences (often 64+ counts) with intense footwork.
- Involves multiple full or fractional turns, rapid spins, and sudden rhythm changes.
- Utilizes complex, layered tags, multiple restarts, and subtle musical nuances.
